Summary/Abstract: The article presents a comparison between measures of an aspect of social capital – the level of trust – obtained in a two fold way: firstly, as the answer to the question: “would you say most people can be trusted?” and secondly as a result of analyzing players’ behavior in the trust game. The comparison of the results of both methods of measurement shows that the answers to the question of trust reflects players’ behavior only to a small extent, and aggregated data at the regional level are not correlated at all.
