Summary/Abstract: The paper discuses the relationship between Vassil Aprilov and Yuriy Venelin as a stable figure in the narrative of the Bulgarian National Revival and attempts to make adjustments in it. The main elements of the proposed adjustments are: 1. The image of society of Bulgarian emigrants in Russia; 2. The idea of the texts of Aprilov as a dialogue with Venelin; 3. The imposition of reciprocity as impact resistance unidirectional influence.
