Summary/Abstract: The article presents the level of material deprivation in Poland in the European Union and the new Member States ( NMS12 ) using selected indicators . Also analyzed the impact of the composition of the household to the threat of severe material deprivation , and examined the relationship of material deprivation of economic poverty . The results indicate that there are differences in the financial situation of households in the EU countries , not only within individual countries but also between these countries for the same types of households. The article uses the method of ratio analysis , comparisons and analyzes.
