Summary/Abstract: The article contains a synthetic overview of the key factors of economic development. The novelty in the proposed approach to this problem is that the factors have not been discussed separately, but analyzed as some blocks characterized by the phenomena of synergies. Such synergistic blocks are e.g. industrial clusters and economic regions. The growing importance of innovativeness and entrepreneurship in development processes has also been highlighted.
