Summary/Abstract: The article presents corporate networks as emergent business networks which are a result of capital and personal ties between companies. They are the basis for the flow of information and knowledge, exchange experiences and management practices. For this reason, corporate networks are an important environment of enterprise embeddedness. The article assumes that the way a firm is embedded in a network, expressed by its position in the corporate network and the pattern of the structure of the corporate network are determinants of the firm performances. In the first part of the article the concept of corporate networks in the interdisciplinary research literature is presented. In the next part of this article the possibility of including the analysis of corporate networks and the company’s position in such a network to strategic analysis is pointed out. This extention of strategic analysis has become possible due to the technique and tools of social network analysis.
