Architecture of firms’ cooperation

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is the identification of new organizational forms based on collaboration of the legally autonomous entities. The first part presents the concept of organizational architecture and directions of organization’s evolution in the context of contemporary challenges and problems. It indicates the decrease of the role of hierarchy structures and increase of importance of informal authority in maintaining firm’s effective external relationships. The article presents the concept of meta-organizations which comprise networks of firms and other entities connected by a system of goals. It represents next era in the development of organizational forms in business. The second part of the paper presents criteria of new organizational forms’ division, their taxonomy and key parameters.
