Specificity of care for the oldest generation vs. social policy towards old age

Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on three issues: 1) the principles of social policy towards old age and old people; 2) advanced old age from a sociological perspective, with particular emphasis on the role of the oldest generation as recipients of care and various forms of support; and 3) the specifics of care, i.e. the dilemmas and difficulties associated with the generation entering old age, who are more are more often becoming the generation taking care of the most senior generation in the family, i.e. those in the fourth phase of old age.
