Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to assess the condition of selected components of social infrastructure in rural areas on the basis of indicators. They describe the degree of citizen satisfaction with the quality and availability of services provided by it. The results allow to conclude that as the most important the villagers recognized access to the health system and the relatively small importance they attached to the benefits offered by the cultural infrastructure. The quality of services provided by both the health care system, and cultural infrastructure was mainly assessed as sufficient. The results do not give a clear answer to the question whether in the past ten years access to health infrastructure was improved or remained unchanged. They point to positive changes in access to services offered by the cultural infrastructure.
