ASSESSMENT OF AN AGRICULTURAL COMMUNE AND NEW POSSIBILITIES OF ITS MODIFICATION TO A TOURIST COMMUNE BY AN EXAMPLE OF THE JORDANÓW ŚLĄSKIKI COMMUNE

Summary/Abstract: The article indicates possible functional transformations of the agricultural JordanówŚląski commune, which is situated in the Dolnośląskie Voivodeship, in the southern part of the district of Wrocław. The commune could become a dynamic operating tourist center. Due to an untapped tourism potential of this region, a vision of a development of the commune were formulated. The vision includes stimulation to activity of tourism and recreation. The commune was thoroughly analysed on the basis of the available information, GUS data and personal observation. SWOT analysis allowed to examine pros and cons of the commune and its chances and risks. The chances of the development of the tourism and results of a survey polled among the residents were showed. The survey presents residents’ opinion about the suggested vision of development.
