Summary/Abstract: J. Baudouin de Courtenay and many later scholars have since long spoken about “linguistic sexism”. Our research in Russian lexicon also point at such an asymmetry in the names of males and females. The material contained here is analyzed from a structural and cognitive word-formation perspective.
