Summary/Abstract: In contemporary Polish, one can observe both the disappearance and formation of new paremiological units. In addition, one often witnesses or even participates in transforming the existing ones. The proverb 'Niedaleko pada jabłko od jabłoni' (The apple doesn't fall far from the tree), which has equivalents in other languages, has been known to users of the Polish language for centuries. The article presents examples of revitalizing this proverb, manifested in the form of contextual modifications of form and / or content.
