Summary/Abstract: Vocational courses in the interwar period constituted one of the variants of the system of vocationaleducation which was forming in Poland. The system encompassed young people working incrafts, industry and trade, and deprived of the possibilities of starting systematic education in stateschools, or in the in-service, and conducted by self-governmental authorities, ones. The courses inquestion made it possible to gain qualifications in a fairly short time as well as to complete theknowledge which had been acquired before. They also provided the formal evidence in the form ofcertification. The intensity with which they were organized in Częstochowa as well as all over Polandwas caused by demand for the part of society and industry, craft and trade developing on thearea of the city and elsewhere.
