Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the main challenges in the labour market but also the expectations of the poten-tial labour market from past employees. The situation in the contemporary labour market is not too optimistic nowadays. This is due to many factors, among others, poor condition of the EU labour market, economic system or politics. The influence on this situation, in large part, have young people themselves, who create this labour market. The requirements of employers regarding poten-tial employees increase what often causes the lack of adequate strength to work/lack of skilled workers. To increase the chances in the labour market, it is important to take all forms of activity already at the stage of education, that can bring measurable results, among others, increased skills, establishing contacts with potential employers or facilitating in finding a permanent job in the future.
