Summary/Abstract: The elementary education in Czestochowa was in a difficult financial and economical situation, typical of the entire post-war Polish state, albeit since the year 1919, when compulsory education was introduced, the percentage of children included in the system of compulsory education was increasing, and the number of classes and teachers was simultaneously growing, while ever larger financial means were allocated to education in Czestochowa. In spite of those facts, there existed facilities in the case of which the financial support provided by the Municipal Board was not suffi-cient. An example can be constituted by Public Primary School no. 9, which had been trying to overcome difficulties in securing appropriate premises since the very commencement of its activi-ty. The collaborative actions of the school management, School Education Society and the Committee of Parents, together with perseverance and consistency in action for the benefit of the school and its attendees resulted in having the city relocate the school from a temporarily used his-torical building to another one, situated in the city center, in the year 1936.
