Summary/Abstract: It is expected that university hospitals carry out important missions such as education and research along with delivery of health care and this causes a complicated structure for university hospitals in which they carry out both academic and clinical activities. It is seen that various models are developed in order to organize collectively the expected delivery of health care from university hospitals, and their education and research activities. The two most accepted models among all are full integration model and functional integration model. The aim of this study is to reveal the advantages and disadvantages of these two models by examining them, and then to discuss the applicability of these models in Turkey by analyzing the organization structure of university hospitals in Turkey and the lacking in this structure.
