Summary/Abstract: Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), started with Customs Union Agreement signed in 1995 between Russia and Belarus, has not been analysed enough within the respect of the international relations system which has considered to bare as a growing geopolitical risks and to create strong interdependence between states and international organisations. It is argued that states need to act together against the problems by establishing international organisations in order to overcome economic, political and security issues in a globalising world. This article thus, examines the Eurasian Economic Union integration process as a long-term major and effective economic development model which is driven by political and economic factors that consolidate regional security and create an effective economic system. This study perceives the EEU as a mechanism for consolidating the Russian influence in the region by actively taking advantage of the EEU members’ dependence on Russia. This study also analyses the economic and strategic interests of the member countries by taking economic globalisation as a theoritical framework of this study.
