Summary/Abstract: The author analyses the hoards dating from the period between the X-th and the XIII-th centuries. These hoards are concentrated in Southern Moldavia and Eastern Valachia, in the Small Valachia (Oltenia) no hoards being found, despite the frequent discoveries of isolated coins. We think that the nomads had their centre in these regions, the Small Valachia being outside of the area under the tight control of the nomads. Probably, the people from Oltenia paid tribute to the nomads, but otherwise they were quite free. The map of the Turanic tombs is coincident with the map of the hoards, tombs never being signalized in the Small Valachia.
