Summary/Abstract: The text highlights some aspects regarding the personality of Metropolitan Nicolae Colan, as professor at the Theological Academy in Sibiu, as bishop of Cluj (during which time he had to face the Vienna Diktat and the communist regime), as a journalist and a writer of great talent, regularly publishing in magazines and being rewarded for his cultural contribution with the title of member of the Romanian Academy. Crainic said about him: “Nicolae Colan, the Orthodox Bishop of Cluj, is the most significant personality of Romanians in Northern Transylvania, the man with the most profound cultural profile.”
