Summary/Abstract: The paper reveals the importance of the soft skills in the software area so as to persuade the human resource and other managers that these skills should be trained and professionally developed. The basic definitions and classifications of the skills are given. A soft skill, recognized as a significant for successful performance, namely the ability to work efficiently in a team, is described. The main goals and principles of team-building in a software company are briefly outlined. An example, showing how a training program for software people can be established and implemented, is given. The possible use of the Comparative analysis to facilitate such training activities is demonstrated.
