Summary/Abstract: Background: Socio-emotional support influence factor of the mental somatic status. The elements which are utilized in order to determine the quantitative and qualitative particularities of this topic are not only of an impressive variability, but also extremely controversed. The aim of this study is to evaluate the interdependency between the already mentioned factors and their connections to the actual general context. Material and method: This prospective, questionnaire-based study was conducted between 1st of March – 31st of May 2015. The study group was formed of 50 female patients which were hospitalized in “Socola” Psychiatry Institute of Iasi, Romania. The key-steps of the study were: patient selection, informed consent obtainment, electronical database generation and obtained data interpretation. Results and discussions: Correlations between somatic status and socio-emotional support (represented by the marital status, number of children, significant person) were studied. Conclusions: The socio-emotional support has a great influence over the health status. The existence of the emotional support (regardless of it’s form) correlates with a better somatic status.
