Summary/Abstract: The end of hostilities in 1945, despite the difficult political and economic situation of the country brought impetuous revival of sports life on Polish territories. In Szadek it was as soon as in the first year after the end of World War II that two sports clubs were set up: Militia Sports Club and Sports Club “Future”. Both operated for less than a year. Another club, established in 1949, was the Rural Sports Team. Its initiators were Tadeusz Domagalski and Antoni Pawłowski (former members of Sports Club “Future”). The newly formed club from its very beginning was strongly associated with rural sports movement. In 1965 (after 16 years of activity) the Rural Sports Team changed its name to the Rural Sports Club “Victoria”. From among numerous sports section (such as football, volleyball, weightlifting, table tennis and chess) run by “Victoria”, the only one that existed continuously until 1989 was the football section.
