Sport in Agricultural Schools in Poland in the Years 1975-1998. Outline of the Issues

Summary/Abstract: Presentation of sport in activities of agricultural schools in Poland in the years 1975-1998 is the main aim of the paper. Primarily starts of students (athletes) of agricultural schools in two flagship sports events have been discussed: Polish Championships of Agricultural Schools (organised in even-numbered years) and All-Poland Olympics of Rural Sports Teams [LZS] Youth of Agricul-tural Schools (held in odd-numbered years). In addition to athletic competition of youth also “competition of teachers” was held. The criteria according to which teachers of physical education were assessed included students’ achievements in qualified sport, as well as sports classes they won. Also, score was given to teams that participated in association games from the first division to the district division inclusive, and were trained by a particular teacher.
