Summary/Abstract: This paper presents physical education and tourism in agricultural schools and Rural People’s Universities in the Second Republic. Physical education and military training were present in curricula of male and female agricultural schools. In terms of extracurricular classes there was sports competition and tourist movement. In the environment of rural youth Rural People’s Universities were of great importance. Among them, a significant role was played by Rural People’s Universities in Szyce and Gać Przeworska. Within curricula of such cultural and educational institutions there were physical education, sports and military training classes with such subjects taught as, among others, gymnastics, athletics, sports games and skiing. Tourist movement complemented the physical activity implemented at Rural People’s Universities. The tourist movement was subordinated to the aims of active recreation, sightseeing as well as to economic objectives.
