Classification of labour market in the Czech Republic

Summary/Abstract: Geographic segmentation can be admitted in case of assuming the existence of barriers on the labor market. This may result in limitations of the labor market in a cer-tain region with its specific characteristics and possible manifestations of significant inter-regional disparities. The fundamental task is to identify the territorial units facing the negative trends on the labor market. Cluster analysis can serve as one of the instruments for the identification of problems of the regions. Therefore the goal of the paper is to apply selected methods of hierarchical cluster analysis of data in order to identify and group problem areas in the Czech Republic, in the context of the labor market.
