Summary/Abstract: Research objective: This article aims at analyzing trends, methods and tools used in entrepreneurship education in the academic environment. The research problem and methods: The main research problem described in the article is the quantitative and qualitative analysis of trends and students’ preferences with regards to the methods and tools used in entrepreneurship education in higher education. The article reviews subject literature and analyses the results of an empirical study based on a survey questionnaire. The process of argumentation: The article consists of three main parts. The first part refers to the issue of entrepreneurship education and its importance in modern conditions and to emerging trends regarding the use of specific methods and tools. The second contains the presentation of the results of obtained in the study, while the third part presents the conclusions. Research results: Relevant subject literature often addresses the problem of entrepreneurship education, and the studies in this area cover many specific aspects, including the role of entrepreneurship in the modern world, the objectives of entrepreneurship education, teaching curriculum, and developing entrepreneurial behavior at different levels of education. Conclusions, innovations and recommendations: The analysis of the survey revealed that students consider entrepreneurship as a necessary course in their university education. In addition, young people need confrontation with practice, which could be achieved by inviting entrepreneurs to the teaching process. Students also expressed the need to develop entrepreneurial behavior, demonstrating at the same time the average level of involvement in additional activities requiring initiative, additional work and time.
