Summary/Abstract: The numismatic collection of the National Museum of Union from Alba Iulia extended with another 13 pieces, silver thalers issued in the XVIIIth-XIXth centuries. The coins have been discovered by chance in Veseus locality, Jidvei commune, on June 2006 by workers who participated in the demolishing of the old manor house’s foundation. The 13 pieces are divided into: 11 thalers from Francisc II, a thaler issued by Maria Theresa and a thaler from Franz Ludwig von Erthal. From information subsequently gathered from those who participated in this action we found out that the number of coins was much bigger (400 pieces approximately). This hoard, if we refer to its initial size, belonged to a wealthy person, the thaler being a coin of great value which couldn’t have been hoarded by a simple person.
