Summary/Abstract: In times of peace, as well as in times of war, in freedom, or in its absence, inside or outside their own country, human relationships are always equal, oscillating invariably between love and hate; and, between these two extremes, there is also a series of feelings, mixed and unstable, governing people and events that, now and then, are equally unstable. Among the different types of documents, the correspondence, diaries and interviews are the ones that, throughout history, most bring into focus the interpersonal relationships, which is also the case of the Romanian exiles. As we can see, in general, our intellectuals’ life and concerns in different periods of time, as well as their affinities, sympathies and antipathies, are present, stated or implied in the words or by means of the words used in their letters or interviews. Without going further into the issue, our main concern is to reveal the general background of the group, in order to better understand some aspects in relation with the intimate, affective mechanisms, which may have affected, in a way or another, the process of their work. Among these, why a book or an article is published in one place or another, their specificity, who backed them, or what could influence their appearance or their disappearance
