Summary/Abstract: “The present article explores the way organizations learn by looking at universities as a specific type of organization. Are universities learning organizations? This article presents a brief overview of the field of organisational learning with some models and paradigms used in research. The article also puts forward the proposal that organisational learning is a complex phenomenon which is nevertheless critical for the survival of the respective organisation in today’s knowledge society offering some explorations of the ways in which Romanian universities try to become competitive on the regional educational market.”
