THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PROFESSIONAL VALUES AND MOTIVATION TO SUCCESS OF ADOLESCENTS AND YOUNG

Summary/Abstract: Nowadays we talk a lot about succes and carrier development. Many scientists try to explain the complexity of this topic and how it can be increased. Therefore we made a research about relation between professional values and motivation to success among adolescents and youngsters. In our research we applied 2 tests: to determinate professional values we used Super’s Professional Value Inventory which show a list of 15 professional values (intellectual stimulation, altruism, economic returns, esthetics, prestige, achievement, authority, professional expectance, surroundings, supervision relation, associates, independence, way of life, variety and creativity) and to measure the mo- Asttivation to succeed we used Ehler’s questionnaire Motivation to success. Our sample consists of 80 person: 40 university students and 40 high school students. The ages of the people involved in the study ranged from 17 to 23 years. We have found the correlation between professional values and motivation to success, 9 of 15 professional values obtain a significant results at Pearson linear correlation coefficient. These professional values are: independence, intellectual stimulation, prestige, achievement, authority, professional expectance, surroundings, way of life and creativity. Also we obtain a classification of professional values among university students and high school students. Both have as a major professional values way of life, economic returns and surroundings.
