Stylistic Aspect of Morphological Cathegory in the Language of Petar II Petrović Njegos

Summary/Abstract: In the paper are analyzed morpho-stylistic words created by replacing the standard in language by non standard or less acquainted form of verb. The analysis shows that the evident stylistic potential is attributed to all main characteristics found in verb change, to relation of verb basis, as well as to marked examples of imperfectization in the language of Petar II Petrović Njegos. Conditioned by the conformities of a metric form, by author’s relying on national language expression, but also inspired by the Slavonic and Russian church Slavonic forms, excerpted examples indicate the expressive value and stylistic marking of language of Njegos, found on a higher level of estrangement and the criteria of substitution of verb as the word kind. Thus, the language of Njegos, as emanation of the spirit of Montenegrin people, represents a valuable source of material for examining choice and use of language and stylistic resources in the opus that lasts and finds reflection in our contemporary time, as we hope will continue in the future.
