Summary/Abstract: CAST (Children of Alcoholics Screening Test) is a screening-type instrument which can be used to identify children or adolescents living in families where at least one of the parents has problems with alcohol abuse. The score on this instrument can provide psychologists a first diagnostic impression on toughts, perception, emotions, and experience of children or adolescents, which are related to the alcohol abuse of one or both parents. The current study summarizes some psychometric qualities which CAST proved in a convenience sample of 1340 children, pupils in 7th and 8th grade from ten schools from Iasi city (Romania).
