Love as the Content and Motive of Preaching the Word of God

Summary/Abstract: The article takes on the issue of love as the essence and theme of contemporary preaching. The author draws attention to the contents of the homily which ought to be about love as portrayed in the Bible. Yet, on the other hand, it must be personal love best portrayed by Jesus Christ. God’s love is a binding principle of the community of the Church. It is its sign and imperative. In its further part the article is devoted to love which motivates to preach the word of God by working closely with the Third Person of the Trinity, moreover to the lively and beautiful way of speaking of God’s love. The author pays attention to the aspect of eloquence, the need to preach from memory as opposed to read, as well as to the necessity for correct language. They guarantee that listeners will listen with attention, even if they have heard the topic on many occasions before.
