Summary/Abstract: In this article, we put forward entomological source of word çıfıt, a Persian origin, meant in different meanings, especially in the light of Ottoman topologic records in Medieval and Newage Islamic geography, to point out Jews or to show a Jews settlement. This word has been used in three ways: 1. castles and residential districts formed by Jews in ancient times, 2. Outdoors of Jews habited in Moslem urbans and residential places, 3. Strong castles and islands used by pirates and bandits households in a time.
