Summary/Abstract: With the emergence of a new consensus in contemporary fascist studies, comparative analyses that approach mutual interactions between various expressions of the phenomenon have gained valuable ground in the past few years. Inspired by recent historiographical developments concerned with integrating national varieties of fascism into a wider transnational framework, the present article aims to bring the Legionary Movement closer to its ideological counterparts by uncovering the thought of one of its most representative figures, Ion I. Moţa. Following Moţa‟s intellectual and political evolution throughout the interwar years, hereby illustrated through publications, speeches, foreign contacts and direct involvement in international events, this article summarily reconstructs an intricate worldview in which the rebirth of the Romanian national community is perceived as inseparable from the establishment of a revolutionary fascist ,,new order” with international implications.
