In Opposition to the Mediocrity, or the Own Way to Freedom

Summary/Abstract: This translation is a fragment from the Maria Szyszkowska’s book: W opozycji do przeciętności, czyli własna droga ku wolności (KAW, Białystok 2012) [М. Шишковская, В оппозиции к заурядности или собственный путь к свободе, перевод Н.И. Чаплий, Warszawa 2015]. My work on Maria Szyszkowska’s books and my decision to translate them into Russian were called by the feeling of gratitude for this extraordinary, deep and interesting person. This is a spiritual call, which has appeared long before we met in person and even before our scientific collaboration. The key notion of the book is the philosophy of ordinary life. This notion has entered into my cramped legal office life and suddenly the idea of my scientific work and collaboration with Szyszkowska dawned upon me. I guess all I am doing after meeting Professor Szyszkowska, has become the philosophy of ordinary life. The idea of the philosophy of ordinary life is that life is not ordinary. It is the eternal celebration of life.
