Summary/Abstract: This paper focusses on the German dialect specific for the Dobrudja, on phonological andgrammar aspects of this dialect. The so-called Schwäbisch (Swabian dialect) has been the nativelanguage for thousands of German immigrants, who inhabited this region from 1840s to the 1940 comingfrom Southern Russia. Schwäbisch is merely a conventional term used to describe the dominant dialectthat collected in fact many elements from other German dialects
