Summary/Abstract: Russian view of the Ottoman Empire in the 19 th century could be observed through three phases > the first phase from the beginning of the 19 th century to the Congress of Berlin , the second from the Paris Congress to the Great Eastern Crisis and the third one from the Congress of Berlin until the early 20 th century, or more precisely to 1903. The Ottoman Empire was at the peak of Russian influence during the thirties age of the 20 th century when Russia imposed to it not only the recognition of the autonomy to Serbia, Walachia and Moldavia but also independence of Greece. Other mayor powers imposed Russia to the rules of the London Convention from 1841 according to which the Ottoman Empire was placed under joint control. Since the defeat in the Crimean War up to the Great Eastern Crisis Russia has lost its influence in the Ottoman Empire during which time period hasn't had concrete plans for its eventual division.
