Summary/Abstract: In the last third of the 19th century in the territory of the Kingdom of Hungary, various archeological societies are formed. Activists and fans of archeaology also carried out the first amateur studies - excavations. Their activity was supported, encouraged and directed mainly by Flóris Rómer (1815-1889), a professor of the Pest university and administrator of the archeological collections of the Hungarian National Museum. In this article, we publish a previously unknown correspondence by Jozef Ľudovít Holuby with Rómer. In the submitted documents, we find valuable information about the research results of J. Ľ. Holubyho in Zemianske Podhradie, which he carried out in 1881.
