Summary/Abstract: The working paper is focused on the objective of full employment of the Lisbon Strategy and the challenges and priorities for Romania. Analising the gap in the labor force employment from European Union and Romania, we identified some issues. The challenges for Romania are: a high level of youth unemployment, a low participation in life long learning activities, a high employment in agricultural sector, a low level of vulnerable groups integration, a high labor migration. The priorities for Romania in its european integration process are: improvement of the labor market functionning, insertion of youth in the labor market, stimulating the participation in the life long learning activities, facilitating the social inclusion of the vulnerable categories.
