Summary/Abstract: The paper attempts at reviving the significance of Pythagora’s Golden Verses for the post modern debate around the notion of personality. The analysis uses Jung’s model of the psyche according to which personality is the ideal of a certain wholeness of the soul that is powerful and harmonious . The concept signifies maturity, a stage that is reached through the fulfilment of the human’s inborn characteristics. The same search can be traced back to the 5th century B.C. when Pithagora’s disciples recorded their master’s teachings in the form of 71 verses. Highly relevant for the 21st century individual, the Golden Verses show the way towards the highest level of development of the personality where man can become like “The ImmortalGods”.
