The 1050th anniversary of the baptism of Poland in selected press (in the light of the survey conducted by „Do Rzeczy” from December 2015)

Summary/Abstract: The author discusses baptism as a religious and political event, the beginningof the Polish state. She explains the historical circumstances, i.e. the balance of powerin Poland and Europe as well as talks about the place and time of Mieszko I’s baptism.She emphasizes the fact that the present jubilee is celebrated in free Poland with theparticipation of the political leaders. The answers collected in the survey from severalrespondents, including clergy, politicians, actors and journalists, point to differentaspects of the baptism of Poland.
