This paper examined the methodological assumptions that follow the preparation of journalists for media acting in the war-affected territories. We presented the division into professional and psychological preparations and listed the most important segments which make up the basic preparation for war reporting. We listed some of the most common psychological problems war reporters deal with, but we also mentioned professional help as the best prevention. At the end of the paper, we presented the predominant theories which deal with war reporting, with the conclusion that factographic approach is the most acceptable, in both professional and ethic terms.
