Summary/Abstract: From the point of view of the in-force regulations or, better said, the two legal acts analyzed in this study are represented, on one hand, by art. 2500 – 2544 of the Romanian Civil Code, Book VI – “About limitation period, forfeiture and calculation of terms” and, on the other hand, by the New York Convention on the Limitation Period in the International Sale of Goods and the Romanian national law regarding the limitation period. The present paper, as suggested by its title, does not aim at exposing the provisions of the Romanian Civil Code concerning the limitation period, nor the provisions of the New York Convention, but intends to provide a thorough analysis of the correlation between the two legal acts in what concerns the rules applicable to the limitation period of actions lodged in relation to an international sale of goods agreement.
