Summary/Abstract: This article is an attempt to extract those elements of Yuri Druzhnikov’s The Death of Tzar Fyodor that enable us to establish its universal semantics. These elements are linked to the topic and the problems of death. The author’s reference to this category lets him create a clear axiological system, which emphasizes the values constituting the message of the work. It is built of universal categories, depreciated in the world described by Druzhnikov.
