Summary/Abstract: The present article examines the link between the bank credit and the economic growth in Ivory Coast over the period 1961-2003. The study is based on the approach the VAR (vector autoregression): tests of cointegration of Johansen and models with correction of error of variables integrated. Our study make tests of cointegration and causality in the sense of Granger. The results show that there is a stable long-term relation between the bank credit and the economic growth in Ivory Coast. It seems that the bank credit does not influence the growth in the sense of Granger. Besides, the results reveal that the variable delayed bank credit influences the current growth. It is certainly due to the fact that the monetary policy affects the real sector with a delay. These results show that Ivory Coast should rather set up measures favorable to the development of the banking sector
