Summary/Abstract: Our study aims at establishing the bond between the adoption of CFA franc as currency of 15 African countries and their economic development. Our study shows that CFA franc is, for a great part, responsible of the underdevelopment of the African Countries of the CFA Zone. The study lets thus foresee a weak consideration for monetary dimension in the development process sin Africa.
