About a function of the chech adjectival pronoun lexeme ten compared with its Russian conterpart этот

Summary/Abstract: The author deals in her Czech-Russian comparative scheme with idioms, a part of which is formed by the pronoun lexems ten and этот. On the basis of study of excerpt materials she draws the conclusion, that there is a clear asymmetry in use of this lexeme in either language on following counts: 1. Czech idioms containing the lexeme ten do not match in the majority of cases their Russian functional counterparts, neither as for form, nor as for causativeness. 2. Frequency of use of the idiomatic structures containing the given pronoun lexeme is higher in Czech than in Russian.
