Summary/Abstract: This article presents special economic zones (SEZs) in Poland. The main objective of this paper is to identify the effects of establishing special economic zones in Poland by such factors as: the degree of occupied each zone, the number of SEZ permits, the total value of SEZ investments, the number of new jobs and the number of retained jobs. The study also presents the effects of the operation of SEZs by such factors as: the total value of SEZ investments and the number of new jobs per 1 ha of zone area occupied by entrepreneurs with permits.
