The activity of cultural homes in Ilfov County during the first years of communism (1948-1950)

Summary/Abstract: The community centres represented an efficient way of supporting the communist regime and in the same time of combating the representatives and the values of the old regime. Nonetheless, the avowed designation was that of raising the cultural level of the peasants, the communists had emphasized the ideological and political aspects during all the cultural manifestations. Magnifying the results (as in the libraries cases), promoting different methods of indoctrinate the peasants (collective lectures, corves etc.) along with the brutal take over of different headquarters, come to confirm the important role play by the communities centres in imposing the communist regime in the Ilfov county
