Summary/Abstract: Based on the sources known so far, a brief survey of the image of the four political residences of the Romanian Countries during the period mentioned above (Bucharest, Jassy, ​​Cernăuţi and Cluj) Noted in the notes of foreign travelers of the time. Given that they belong (in political relation) to a series of neighboring multinational empires and the socio-economic and institutional regime present, the level of urban development of the cities cited has faithfully studied the study of the evolution of Romanian society At the end of the Phanariote period. Taken as a whole, the travel stories in the period mentioned on the Romanian princely capitals constitute extremely precious historical materials, under conditions where no other documentary source is available. Of course, the comparison with the provincial cities abroad is as a whole, unfavorable for our cities, with their network of anachronistic and primitive lanes, precarious public hygiene or the lack of any systematization
